Live to Love Activities on 20th Feb
We still have a long way to go. We would like to thank Patty Sham from Hong Kong for requesting Dr. Kong Footcare to sponsor 50 schoolbags for students in the village, and for sponsoring 2 beds and 1 scanner for us. We would also like to thank Marilyne Renard from France and Pauline Hui from Hong Kong for sponsoring fax machines. Marilyne has also sent funds to sponsor 2 villagers.
There are also many other sponsors that we would like to thank. Over time, we will put their names on the list as acknowledgement.
Druk Foundation Ltd. has also set up an online donation facility.
Household Survey for Live to Love
In the past few weeks, ever since the announcement of His Holiness's birthday celebration on Druk Amitabha Mountain, together with Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo's official promotion, we have been working in a team to start collecting information about the villagers staying closest to us. This exercise was done so that we are able to know what we can offer to help these villagers, our neighbors and our friends. The information we have collected is here and we will give a list of things that will help these people.

About Us
Druk Gawa Khilwa Abbey (DGK), a spiritual community for female
practitioners, was founded by His
Holiness the Twelfth Gyalwang Drukpa, the spiritual head of
the Drukpa Lineage. At present, there are approximately 300 nuns
at DGK - 100 senior nuns are now being trained in Ladakh at the
retreat center in Kortsa, and 200 nuns who are in beginner and
advanced levels are going through introductory trainings on Druk
Amitabha Mountain in Kathmandu, Nepal.
Among us, there are already a few qualified nuns who are practicing the Six Yogas of Naropa, under the direct guidance of His Holiness Gyalwang Drukpa.
As the Drukpa Lineage holds the authentic blessings of Naropa and his consort Niguma, in the past many female practitioners attained enlightenment through practicing the methods taught by the enlightened masters of the lineage.
His Holiness said: "Women should be provided with the equal opportunities as men to learn and progress on the spiritual path." With this motivation, he established DGK.
This website will provide frequent updates of the progress of work at the various DGK nunneries and the ongoing as well as forthcoming activities performed by us, the DGK nuns.
Vision of H.H. Gyalwang Drukpa
His Holiness shares with us his vision:
"Everyone, man or woman, has the potentials and the rights to attain Buddhahood....
New Look for DGK Web
DGK website has been given a makeover, just in time to celebrate New Year 2008. This is our little offering to His Holiness Gyalwang Drukpa and our way to say "Thank You" to the sponsors and volunteers of DGK Nunneries.
DGK's DAILY SCHEDULE
On an average, those of us staying and practicing at the various DGK nunneries wake up at 3am and rest at about 11pm. Prayers we do daily and regularly:
- Tara puja at dawn
- Ganachakra on special days
- Meditation
- Ritual practices
- Cham dance practices
