JIGME RIGZIN CHOZOM

On behalf of everyone on Druk Amitabha Mountain, I would like to wish you all "Happy New year".

By the blessing of His Holiness Gyalwang Drukpa, our root guru, we are doing well.

Next year on the 10th day of the 1st Tibetan month, we will be celebrating the birthday of His Holiness. To us, this is a day of World Peace, because many years ago on this day, our Root Guru Vajradhara has taken human form by coming to this world, to benefit mother sentient beings.

Let us pray for the longevity of His Holiness and wish that his spiritual activities will flourish in the ten directions of the universe. May the Buddhadharma flourish in this world and particularly, may the strength of the Drukpa Lineage grow to benefit all.

I hope that all the sponsors and followers of the Drukpa Lineage all over the world will come to Druk Amitabha Mountain and join us in making supplication prayers to His Holiness and wishing him a very long life.

These days, we are very busy shifting to the new residential blocks. Now there are ten nuns in a single room. This comfort is due to the compassion of His Holiness. We are expanding the living room. The water tank is also under construction.

Even though we have to work very hard in terms of laboring for the various projects, we are grateful to the many sponsors who provide us with the financial means to undertake various construction work that will make our life easier.

Dear sponsors, you are accumulating merits by practicing generosity and by fulfilling His Holiness's wishes in so many ways. I want to take this opportunity to rejoice in your virtuous efforts and I pray for your well-being and for the benefits of all mother sentient beings.

Besides doing daily spiritual practices, we are also contributing some of our time to labor at the construction site, attending English and Tibetan grammar classes and learning the different ritual. We are quite busy at dawn and in the evening, gathering together for prayers and pujas. Everyday, we start at 3am and finish at 10pm. Our daily routine is completely filled with service to our Root Guru, his community and practices for enlightenment of ourselves and others.

Lastly, may I take this opportunity to welcome you all to join us during the birthday celebration of His Holiness Gyalwang Drukpa on Druk Amitabha Mountain in February 2008.

JIGME RUPA LHAMO

I feel very lucky to be given a chance to write about my feelings towards Druk Amitabha Mountain, His Holiness Gyalwang Drukpa and the sponsors.

We are thankful to His Holiness. His kindness has made everything possible. After we became nuns, we had the chance to visit many holy places with His Holiness, which we had never dreamed of in our life before becoming his nuns.

These days, we are very busy preparing for His Holiness's forthcoming birthday. We are thinking of doing something special and we are eagerly waiting for this sacred day to arrive.

His Holiness is now making a few more blocks of nuns' residence for our comfort. We are always dedicating our prayers for the benefit of all sentient beings and for the happiness of all our sponsors, whose generous support has given us the opportunity to practice without worries.

We would always try to fulfill His Holiness's wishes. From His Holiness, we receive so much love and care that we'd never get from others. Generally, people mostly live for themselves. We are so lucky that His Holiness provides us with a chance to live for others. From the depth of my heart, I want to thank and prostrate to His Holiness.

Lastly, on behalf of all the nuns on Druk Amitabha Mountain, we wish you all a very happy and prosperous new year.

On behalf of all the disciples, ordained and lay, and on my own behalf, I would like to prostrate fully before my root guru with an offering of mind to wish His Holiness Gyalwang Drukpa a forthcoming happy and prosperous birthday.

I would like to request His Holiness to live long for the benefit of his followers and all mother sentient being. I make aspiration prayers for the Dharma to flourish all over the world, in order to save the lives of innocent beings. I would also like to take this opportunity to rejoice in the merit accumulated by all sentient being, to dedicate the merit that I have accumulated in three times in benefit of all beings. May all attain perfect enlightenment!

Due to previous connection I had made with a spiritual father protector of all beings to guide me in the right direction, I now have spiritual friends to encourage me in my practice and spiritual guardians to assist my practice. Thus I am not only blessed with the teachings but also with basic necessities of daily living, like food, clothing and shelter. I have nothing to worry about other than enjoying the provision and doing practices.

Therefore, on behalf of all my brothers and sisters living on Druk Amitabha Mountain and myself, I would like to extend my heartiest gratitude to all the sponsors for their support to fulfill the benevolent wishes of His Holiness's wishes.

I pray for the well being of the sponsors and all the sentient beings. May all genuine spiritual masters, disciples and friends meet in the Buddha's pure land.

Our guru, His Holiness Gyalwang Drukpa, gives us everything we need. Ever since we took vows, His Holiness has become our father and our family. He is everything to us. Because of him, we got this marvelous chance of becoming nuns. For us, His Holiness is like a precious stone, such as a diamond or a ruby.

If we did not meet His Holiness, we would not have become nuns, we would not have engaged ourselves in spiritual practice and learned good things in our life. Because of His Holiness, we have food to eat without having to go through hardships. We also want to thank all our sponsors for helping us all the time.

Thank you and happy new year.

Jigme KARMA CHUNZIN

We all are disciples of His Holiness the Twelfth Gyalwang Drukpa, who is the reincarnation of Naropa. He is the All-Knowing One, who had come to this world for the benefit of all beings. He is always thinking about others, and does not care about himself.

He visits different countries to propagate and introduce the spiritual path as taught by Lord Buddha. He has many followers in many different countries. He does not discriminate people by their wealth and status. He encourages us and gives us the willpower to live a beneficial life for others. He always teaches us to perform good deeds that will help others.

In Buddhism, one of the main practices is to help others and not to harm others, even at the cost of one's own life. If teachings of Lord Buddha flourish, no one will suffer, not even small insects. Unfortunately, the world is now suffering from many different diseases and disasters, such as earthquakes, floods and so on so forth.

Why are these negative things happening? This is because people are getting to be more violent and selfish. We are here on this earth to help each other. As Buddhist practitioners, we believe that all beings have been our mothers in many of our past lives, therefore we should not be harming our own mothers.

May this world be filled with happiness, harmony and peace.

CHUNIT KHANDRO

The name of our nunnery is Druk Gawa Khilwa, and it is situated on Druk Amitabha Mountain in Kathmandu, Nepal. There are 200 nuns in our nunnery.

All of us live in the shelter of His Holiness. Nobody is more important for us in this world than His Holiness. From the time we became nuns, we have offered our body, speech and mind to His Holiness.

His Holiness made a very big nunnery for us in which we don't have to face any problems. We think that we would not get the love and care given by His Holiness, had we not became nuns.

Sometimes, we face the problem of water. His Holiness is making a big water tank so that we don’t face water problem. And a big hospital is in construction. His Holiness also keeps a Tibetan teacher for us.

There is a big helping hand coming from our sponsors for our education. We all are thankful for these. We all pray to His Holiness that each and every moment of their life will be filled with happiness, joy and contentment.

JIGME SANGEY

We are grateful to the sponsors and volunteers who help to support our spiritual education and our daily living expenses. We pray to His Holiness each and every moment that they live a happy life.

Druk Gawa Khilwa in Kathmandu is located on Druk Amitabha Mountain, which is situated between two sacred places, Swayambhunath Stupa and Langri Lungtan.

Druk Amitabha Mountain is named after Amitabha, whose pure land or paradise is in the west direction. The view from the mountain is very beautiful. It is unpolluted and clean, with a large compound surrounded by flowers and thick forest. Inside the temple on the mountain, there are many sacred statues.

Our root guru and protector of all beings, His Holiness Gyalwang Drukpa is an emanation of Vajradhara, the sixth Buddha. Because of his blessings, we, all the nuns here, are enjoying the luxury of living and practicing in such a wonderful environment.

I pray that I would always fulfill His Holiness's wishes and that the Buddhadharma will flourish all over the world to benefit all mother sentient beings.
